View Settings

The options in View Setting decide showing some items or not.

Force login

If “force login” is checked, then there will be no “cancel” button during the login process.
There are two occasions.
The first one is when users database is already integrated and single sign-on is accomplished, then users will log in the chat room using their ID on the website automatically and there is no way to change ID or using dummy ID.
The other one is that users manually log in chat after entering username and password. Similarly they can’t cancel it to change username.
On the contrary, if “force login” unchecked, then users may cancel logging in process and use another ID.

Show guest checkbox

If you select this checkbox, then guest-login will be tolerated, otherwise only registered members are allowed to login and use the IM.
As shown below.

Select guest checkbox by default

Check it here then guest-login will be recommended, of course registered members can also uncheck it manually to enter username and password.

Show “online” tab

If you check it here, there will be a tab “Online” next to “Friends” in the Friend List, showing all the online users. Otherwise there will only be friend list.
Note:

  • Only the online users on the current page will be listed, not those on the whole website.
  • 50 users per page. If over 50, then extra page(s) will be managed by “previous page”, “next page” buttons.
  • For each page of 50 users, if over 20 or 30, which depends on the height of the Friend List pane, a scrollbar will show.
  • Sorting order: users will be displayed according to their IM logon time, the latest on top.
  • Search contacts, only username can be search criteria, and fuzzy search is allowed.
  • For performance sake, the search will only be done in the current page (less than or equal to 50 users) instead of among all online users.

Show “logout” button below user status

If checked, then there will be a “logout” button below user status. Otherwise users can not logout unless exiting the whole system of the IM.
As shown below.

Show "add" button to add a friend

If checked, an “add friend” button will show on the bottom left of the Friend List panel so that the end users may add contact easily. Otherwise it will be invisible.
As shown below.
